Kindergarten/ 1st Grade 

A unique program designed especially for K and 1st Graders at the start of their elementary school journey. We focus on foundational skills in early reading, writing, and mathematics, while supporting crucial learning in social and emotional skills as well as learning approaches. This inclusive class welcomes neurotypical, neurodiverse, and highly-capable learners.

2nd/ 3rd Grade

This mixed-grade class continues to focus on building literacy and math skills, incorporating social and emotional learning, and introducing Project-Based learning as the primary driver of curriculum. What is Project-Based Learning? Project Based Learning (PBL) is a teaching method in which students learn by actively engaging in real world and personally meaningful projects.

4th/ 5th Grade

In this mixed-grade classroom we extend the literacy and math skills of the previous grades, and center all learning around the Project-Based Approach. This allows for the application of learned skills. Additionally, science, history, civics, creative art, and life skills are incorporated into the curriculum.

6th/ 7th Grade

Our 6th and 7th graders mature as competent and active learners using and expanding on the skills and knowledge gained in the lower grades. A continued focus on fluent reading and writing skills supports the students’ success in Project-Based Learning.

8th Grade

This grade focuses on the continued development of learning approaches, fostering independence, creativity, and critical thinking. Students begin to prepare for their upcoming high school experience with attention placed on time and task management, organization, leadership skills, and creating goals for success. Academic achievement in core subjects is promoted using Project-Based Learning.

 

In all grades, we guide and support children to develop their social skills, make and maintain friendships, and manage peer-group influences.
